HR tech companies are closing out Q3 by closing deals. Over the course of September, multiple big name vendors have either picked up other companies or engineered completely new functionalities to manage the rising demand of remote recruiting and hiring solutions. The trend of work-from-home doesn't seem to be going anywhere either, with leading companies such as Google and Indeed pushing the return to office back until mid-2021. As such, this month's round-up is just a taste of the stories we are likely to continue reading into next year—partnerships, acquisitions and innovations.

employee health and safety solution

Paychex Adds Employee Health and Safety Solutions

Out of necessity in the face of COVID, Paychex introduced their new Flex solution. The platform focuses on health and safety management, specifically for the difficulties caused by coronavirus. “We’ve provided comprehensive training to our HR professionals to help them guide clients through this uncharted landscape,” president and CEO Marting Mucci said, “and we continue to introduce new tech-enabled solutions that assist employers to more effectively manage a remote and distributed workforce.”

Paychex Flex gives clients access to COVID-19 leave tracking and screening to reduce the spread of the virus, as well as health attestation support to simplify employee data collection. All of the solutions are designed to aid the return to the office.

Talent directory

Ranstad RiseSmart Supplies Customers with Talent Directories

Outplacement provider Ranstad RiseSmart rolled out talent directories to their customers at no extra cost. According to president and general manager Dan Davenport, the directories’ creation was a direct result of Randstad RiseSmart customers wanting to help their laid off employees get rehired quickly.

All directories come with a unique URL and company-branded insignia. In addition, RiseSmart outplacement program participants can have their professional profiles featured on former employer’s talent directories.

employee engagement platform

Traitify Releases Engage, A High-Volume Engagement Platform

Personality assessment API and SaaS platform Traitify unveiled Traitify Engage, an engagement platform for high-volume workforces. Engage will build upon their previous personality assessments to provide companies with individualized insights for motivating their employees.

The new platform was specifically created to mitigate the challenge of developing high-volume workers, especially during a pandemic. CEO of Traitify Dan Sines hopes Engage will allow their customers to “avoid costly turnover, alleviate the stress on hiring teams, and start to bring back happiness to the workplace.”

Talent acquisition

PeopleFluent Acquires Patheer to Add Talent Development Capabilities

PeopleFluent announced the launch of TalentMobility, a talent development and analytics platform meant to develop in-house talent and empower employees to develop personalized career paths. Patheer, recently acquired by PeopleFluent’s parent company, will provide the foundational technology for the new platform.

Functionalities of the Talent Mobility platform include mentorship opportunities and in-depth talent analytics and forecasting. The service is offered as a stand-alone tool or bundled with other PeopleFluent offerings.

video interview

HireVue Announces HireView Interviews for Microsoft Teams

HireVue introduced HireVue Interviews, their partnership with Microsoft Teams, at Microsoft Ignite 2020. The new solution addresses the challenges hiring teams face in a remote work landscape. Chairman and CEO of HireVue Kevin Parker stated the solution will “enable easier collaboration between the recruiter and hiring manager, one that is fully integrated into their flow of work and which helps companies fight bias through a more structured and consistent interview process.” Users of Microsoft Teams will now be able to use it as an interview platform, which will include question planning and real-time candidate feedback. It also allows hiring teams to use Microsoft’s note taking tools. In return, HireVue gains access to Teams’ large user base.

talent sourcing marketplace

Yello Creates Sourcing Marketplace with Help from Partners

Early-stage talent sourcing tool Yello announced the new Yello Sourcing Marketplace, a diverse virtual marketplace made up of millions of early talent candidates. The growth of this talent pool is thanks to partnerships with Tallo, Hiring America and Symplicity.

Each partner adds its own unique scope to the Sourcing Marketpace. Symplicity focuses on universities and colleges and plans to bring more student talent. Tallo enhances diversity and inclusion programs, specifically helping Yello to understand Gen Z and Millennial talent.  Hiring America is targeted at military veterans.

Together, the four talent pools combine into a sum greater than its parts. Yello co-founder Dan Bartfield knows that “nearly all of our customers plan to recruit virtually this year, so it’s critical that they have options to source early talent candidates.”

virtual hiring tool

Indeed to Host Free Virtual Hiring Tour

Job board Indeed kickstarted their ambitious Virtual Hiring Tour in mid-September. The free tour allows job seekers to connect with an expansive range of companies and open job positions, with the goal of getting 20,000 people hired.

The Virtual Hiring Tour consists of multiple hiring events that use Indeed’s interview technology to speed up the hiring process, saving employers weeks of work. In addition, Indeed has partnered with Goodwill Industries International to help job seekers in need of additional support with one-on-one coaching, skills training and career counseling.

recruiting

Job.com Acquires Cyber Security Recruiting Firm HireVergence

Digital recruitment platform Job.com acquired cybersecurity recruiting firm HireVergence. The move is one step closer to Job.com’s vision of a digitized staffing industry.

Job.com co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer Arran Stewart reveals that their plan is to streamline the recruitment landscape, giving candidates a greater advantage in navigating their careers.

rebrand of Kronos and Ultimate Software to UKG

Kronos and Ultimate Software Rebrand as UKG

Though announced at the end of August, the merger between two HR software behemoths Kronos and Ultimate Software made noteworthy news in early September. Aron Ain, CEO of the newly joined company, is optimistic that the new brand “represents the people-centric innovation, warmth, and partnerships our customers will experience with UKG products and services.”

Both Kronos and United Software were leaders in human capital management solutions. As UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), they plan to grow their combined workforce of 12,000 by another 3,000 over the course of the next three years. The partnership is officially effective October 1.
