Welcome to our new monthly series, HR Tech on Our Radar, where we will highlight various companies that have caught our attention. Different companies need different service offerings, and if there’s one thing for sure, it’s that you have a lot of choices when it comes to HR Tech. Whether your company is a relatively new startup or a larger company looking for a better fit, we hope our features will be a starting point toward getting the right solutions in place.

This month, we are focusing on several key steps in the process of making great hiring decisions and building company culture. From recruiting and applicant tracking to engaging new and existing employees, options in HR technology abound. Here are some of our favorites.

Recruiting CRM: Yello

As we noted recently, the best recruitment marketing software options serve a key role in an HR team’s ability to streamline the recruiting process. When it comes to recruiting CRM solutions, Yello stands out because it has evolved over time from talent acquisition software into a more robust platform that offers candidate relationship management, sourcing, and more. By looking at the overall process as a journey, Yello has designed its offerings around the goal of creating a great user experience. According to Yello, around 100 of the Fortune 500 companies use their platform to manage their recruiting processes.

Applicant Tracking System (ATS): ClearCompany

Applicant tracking systems earn their keep by improving efficiency throughout the process of finding and managing prospective hires. Though critical to a company’s success, much of the processes are repetitive and tedious—making them ideal for automation. ClearCompany attracted our attention recently because of its incredible client retention rate: 99%! ClearCompany’s website boasts that the platform has capabilities ranging from job posting and candidate management to interviewing, onboarding, and analysis features. Big-name clients include Chick-fil-a, Edible Arrangements, and Goodwill.

Interview Scheduling: GoodTime

Speaking of finding the best talent, another area where HR teams benefit from automation is the interview process. Phone interviews, in-person meetings, reference follow-ups, and more are a breeze with GoodTime. One of the few options that focuses solely on interview scheduling, rather than offering this feature as part of a broader spectrum, GoodTime is a great fit for companies who are looking for a solution to this singular problem.

By specializing in this area, GoodTime has built a great reputation and a portfolio of happy customers. Its users rave about the amount of time saved and the great user experiences. Additionally, their singular focus appeals to companies of all sizes. Among their more recognizable clients are Airbnb, Zoom, and Shopify.

Video Interviewing: OutMatch

Particularly in our post-pandemic world, video interviews are playing a huge role in the hiring process. Employers, staffing companies, and candidates alike are seeing the time-saving benefits of video interviews. There’s no doubt that video call trumps a standard phone screening, and video interviews take up less time for all involved.

OutMatch stands out because it also accounts for companies’ needs for on-demand interviews as well as live conversations. Employers can create workflows of standard questions and applicants can record their responses on their own time, which means OutMatch is working behind the scenes around the clock. OutMatch’s website points to its “nearly 20 million scientifically-proven employment assessments each year” while helping companies find the best candidates to fit their business needs and company cultures.

Employee Engagement: Workvivo

Once companies find and onboard the best talent, the real work begins: keeping employees engaged and company culture positive. As we embark on new challenges of restarting many companies post-coronavirus, leaders face new challenges as employees are called back following layoffs and furloughs. Many other employees are now searching for new opportunities.

As a country, we are also facing realities of interpersonal and interracial challenges—some of which go deep into company culture. Now more than ever, successful companies will navigate these challenges by looking for ways to engage teams and foster positive interaction. Workvivo excels in this arena in part because it looks and feels like social media. It feels familiar, which encourages user participation. As noted on their website, Workvivo “reaches the places email can’t.” It lets users give shout-outs to other team members, it fosters collaboration, and it strengthens the prominence of a company’s goals and values.
