PROS

  • JazzHR is quite affordable and doesn’t place any limits on the number of users added. It also offers free, 21-day trials that anyone can sign up for.
  • JazzHR has built-in features for offer management. You can choose from existing offer letter templates or create your own and share them with successful candidates
  • You can automate triggers for candidates to be automatically notified via email when their application has moved a stage further in the hiring process. Several other email responses can be automated.

CONS

  • Some users reported a learning curve with JazzHR's UI and that it took them some time to get used to it
  • For a product geared towards SMBs, it lacks a free plan. We mention this as a con since other SMB-geared recruiting products do offer free-forever versions, which puts JazzHR slightly behind the competition.
  • Several users have mentioned that the reporting feature is difficult to use with very little room for report customizations.
  • JazzHR currently lacks a mobile app, and the browser version isn’t well-optimized for mobile use.

JazzHR Review

JazzHR is a cloud-based recruiting solution that’s specifically built for small and medium-sized businesses. Through it, you can build custom-branded career pages, post jobs to multiple free and paid job boards, and share those posted jobs on various social media sites for maximum reach.

Once candidates apply for your posted jobs, JazzHR enables you to track how far they have progressed through your hiring process through customizable recruiting stages and workflows. You can also communicate with candidates who applied for your posted jobs without leaving JazzHR. Not to mention, several email responses, such as interview scheduling requests and progress notifications, can be automated so you’re able to spend your time on more important tasks.

We like that JazzHR has pre-integrated offer management features. You can choose from several existing offer letter templates, or customize one yourself and share it with successful candidates. You can also collect e-signatures without needing to integrate JazzHR with third-party tools.

We do, however, have to dock a few points from JazzHR for lacking a mobile app. While some features of JazzHR such as candidate quick screen and interview guides have been optimized for mobile browser access, it’s rather a hassle for hiring managers to get to those features on mobile browsers vs on a dedicated mobile app. And as companies are increasingly seeking mobile-first recruiting strategies to save time and reach candidates where they are, having a mobile app to your recruiting software becomes a necessity, not an accessory.

Overall, we think that several SMBs can find value in JazzHR’s offering. If you’re looking for an affordable recruiting solution with features for candidate sourcing, applicant tracking, and offer management (and you can get past the lack of a mobile app), then JazzHR is definitely worth checking out.

What users think of JazzHR

Reviewer's Rating
9/10

I use JazzHR to manage multiple job openings within our organization. The platform provides a clear view of the roles we are actively hiring for, the number of applicants received, and, most importantly, the ability to communicate with candidates directly within the interface. This feature is particularly beneficial as it eliminates the need to monitor a separate email inbox, which I had to do in the past.

JazzHR also facilitates collaboration with hiring managers, especially during the resume and application review stages of the hiring process.

What do you like about JazzHR?
  • I appreciate that JazzHR streamlines communication throughout the recruitment process across multiple roles.
  • The ability to consolidate candidate sources in one place, rather than logging into multiple job boards, is highly convenient.
  • JazzHR is a relatively cost-effective solution, especially for an organization of our size.
Why did your organization buy JazzHR, and how long have you used it for?

Our organization purchased JazzHR after receiving significant additional funding that required us to scale our hiring efforts rapidly. We needed a platform that could consolidate our recruitment process by connecting job postings to our website and distributing them across multiple job boards.

Before JazzHR, we had to post job openings on each board manually, which was time-consuming and inefficient. JazzHR streamlined this process, allowing us to manage applications more effectively. I have personally used JazzHR for the past three years.

What do you dislike about JazzHR?
  • JazzHR could offer more automation and workflow management tools.
  • It would be beneficial if JazzHR integrated with our HRIS system (currently Paylocity).
  • A seamless integration with Paylocity or another HRIS would improve the transition from recruitment to onboarding.
How is JazzHR different than their competitors?

JazzHR, as a standalone solution, is more robust than ATS modules or add-ons within payroll platforms. Those have been the primary ATS options I have used outside of JazzHR.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

One of the most important factors to consider is which job boards the system integrates with and how seamlessly these integrations function. Additionally, organizations should evaluate the number of job postings allowed and ensure they are not being overcharged based on their hiring volume.

How has JazzHR changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

JazzHR has remained relatively unchanged since I started using it.

What specific type of user or organization is JazzHR very good for?

JazzHR is ideal for an HR department of one or a small HR team without a dedicated recruiter, as it helps centralize and streamline the recruitment process. A key benefit is that it also enables collaboration in hiring.

What specific type of user or organization would JazzHR not be a good fit for?

JazzHR may not be the best fit for a dedicated recruiter or a large recruitment team, as it does not offer the advanced metrics and reporting features that those professionals typically require.

Reviewer's Rating
7/10

I primarily used JazzHR as an ATS to store and manage applicant data. The ability to automate various steps in the hiring process helped improve efficiency. We programmed letters, screening questions, and other workflow steps directly into the system.

Since we used a separate HRIS, we integrated JazzHR so that applicant data would flow seamlessly into the HRIS once a candidate was hired. The system was also easy for hiring managers to use, making collaboration more effective.

What do you like about JazzHR?
  • It integrates well with payroll and HRIS management systems.
  • The ability to customize and automate recruiting steps made the process more efficient.
  • Tracking multiple open positions and their progress was simple and well-organized.
Why did your organization buy JazzHR, and how long have you used it for?

I used JazzHR as an applicant tracking system (ATS). We needed a platform that could store applicant information and integrate with other software we used. As a high-volume recruiting department, we required an ATS that ensured compliance while also being flexible enough to streamline the recruiting process.

The tool we were previously using did not support the necessary integrations with our other software. JazzHR addressed this issue, making our hiring process more efficient.

What do you dislike about JazzHR?
  • The system included features for sourcing candidates, but they were rarely well-qualified.
  • There was no AI functionality for resume screening.
  • The subscription model was difficult to cancel if needed.
How is JazzHR different than their competitors?

JazzHR was easier to use than many other ATS platforms I’ve worked with. The dashboard and step-based integration made navigating the system simple and efficient.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

Consider the volume of recruiting your organization handles to determine if JazzHR is a good fit. Additionally, evaluate whether you need the system to integrate with other HR software, as this can impact overall efficiency.

How has JazzHR changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

During my time using JazzHR, the system remained largely unchanged. At the time, AI tools were not as widely used as they are today, so they may have since incorporated those features.

What specific type of user or organization is JazzHR very good for?

JazzHR is well-suited for high-volume recruiting and organizations that require integration with other HR tools. We had a workforce of about 5,000 employees, and the system worked well for our needs.

What specific type of user or organization would JazzHR not be a good fit for?

Recruiting agencies might struggle with JazzHR due to its lack of advanced automation features compared to other tools. Smaller organizations may also find it less valuable if they do not have a high volume of hiring needs.

Reviewer's Rating
8/10

We use JazzHR daily for posting job openings, managing candidate applications, and tracking the hiring process. Job listings are created frequently and automatically distributed to multiple job boards, saving significant time. The applicant tracking system (ATS) feature helps us screen and hire candidates efficiently. JazzHR plays a crucial role in our recruitment process.

What do you like about JazzHR?
  • JazzHR is intuitive compared to other tools we have used.
  • The job board integrations are helpful and time-saving.
  • The pricing of JazzHR provides great value for its features.
Why did your organization buy JazzHR, and how long have you used it for?

The main reason we chose JazzHR was that we needed an affordable and user-friendly recruitment platform to streamline our hiring process. Like many other companies, we were relying on manual hiring processes, which were time-consuming, especially as our company grew.

JazzHR provided a more efficient solution, reducing the time spent on recruitment tasks. The platform also offers enhanced collaboration, allowing our teams to work together effectively.

What do you dislike about JazzHR?
  • JazzHR lacks some advanced features, such as AI-powered candidate assessments.
  • While the platform is user-friendly, it offers fewer customization options for branding and job listing design compared to some competitors.
  • JazzHR does not have a mobile app.
How is JazzHR different than their competitors?

JazzHR is simple and affordable. It is straightforward and provides essential recruitment features, including an ATS, job board integrations, and other useful tools. The pricing is lower than that of competitors because it has fewer advanced capabilities.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

Consider ease of use, feature requirements, pricing, and scalability. Pricing is a key factor for many organizations, and JazzHR’s competitive cost makes it an attractive option. Additionally, depending on your company size, you should determine whether the tool meets your long-term needs.

How has JazzHR changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

JazzHR has continuously improved by adding more integrations and enhancing its job posting capabilities. The user interface has also been updated to make it more accessible for new users. Additionally, its reporting tools have expanded to provide deeper insights into the recruitment process.

What specific type of user or organization is JazzHR very good for?

JazzHR is ideal for small businesses and startups that need a simple and affordable recruitment tool. It is easy to use, offers essential functionalities, and gets the job done without unnecessary complexity.

What specific type of user or organization would JazzHR not be a good fit for?

JazzHR may not be ideal for larger companies with complex hiring processes. If your organization requires AI-driven results, advanced workflows, or highly customizable features, a different HR software solution may be a better fit.
