Pin's pull for sourcing is reach plus precision: a candidate pool the vendor says nears 800 million profiles, natural-language search with hundreds of filters, and per-candidate fit scoring that surfaces passive talent other databases miss.

PROS
- Search runs on plain-language prompts plus hundreds of filters, from department-level tenure to the investors behind a candidate's past employers.
- Each result gets its own LLM thread that scores fit, checks your criteria, and estimates salary, so sourcing lists arrive pre-qualified.
- Coverage reaches passive candidates well beyond LinkedIn job postings, the pool most sourcing teams struggle to tap.
- Sourced candidates flow straight into automated email, LinkedIn, and SMS sequences without a second tool.
CONS
- Every contact reveal draws on a monthly credit cap, so high-volume sourcing teams can exhaust their allowance before month's end.
- Pin draws candidate data from undisclosed third-party sources, so coverage and freshness are hard to audit before buying.
- Pin sources and engages candidates but does not parse inbound applicants, so teams may have to run Pin alongside an applicant tracking system rather than in place of one.
- As a tool that launched in late 2024, Pin has a short public track record next to incumbents like hireEZ and SeekOut.

We ran a full sourcing session with Pin during our demo, and what stood out was how quickly a plain-language brief turned into a usable list. You describe the role, and Pin searches a pool of 800 million profiles, then returns ranked candidates with fit scores, criteria checks, and salary estimates attached. Not only that, but every time you accept or reject a profile, it learns from that and might fine-tune the list accordingly; for example, if you provide a clear reason for a rejection that clearly applies to other profiles in the queue.
We were all the more pleased to see this tool in action because it resonates with what you'd expect AI to do with recruiting, well applied to the headhunting field. Furthermore, sourcing buyers we spoke with actually keep circling the same want. A few weeks before our demo, one enterprise talent leader who had run SeekOut was lukewarm on it and wanted to "type a role in plain words and get aligned profiles out", which is close to how Pin works, even though this person didn't know about Pin to begin with. Against hireEZ, strong on Boolean and rediscovery, and Juicebox, built around natural-language search, Pin's edge is pairing that search with built-in outreach, so a sourced list does not sit idle waiting for a separate sequencing tool.
This review draws on that demo and our ongoing calls with sourcing teams, and it reflects how we see AI in sourcing: a multiplier for recruiters, with a human signing off on every list.
Two caveats bear on sourcing. Pin meters contact reveals by credit, so high-volume teams should model usage before committing, and the underlying candidate data comes from undisclosed third-party sources.
