ICIMS Review

ICIMS Talent Cloud is a comprehensive talent management and acquisition platform designed for large companies and enterprises. It allows you to attract new candidates through customizable career sites, employee-generated testimonial views, and personalized email/text campaigns. iCIMS also allows you to promote existing employees through internal mobility programs. Once you receive applications, you can keep track of candidate profiles and manage them through customizable hiring workflows.

Besides processing the applications of active/interested candidates, ICIMS helps you to continuously engage passive candidates through their CRM. You can organize passive candidates in pipelines and deploy personalized multi-channel marketing campaigns to attract them. You can also enable candidates to sign up for alerts so that they’re automatically notified when a job that’s relevant to their skills is posted.

Leveraging the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning, ICIMS’ talent matching feature automatically brings up suitable candidates for your posted jobs. iCIMS also has a smart assistant that facilitates candidate self-service, qualification screening, and interview scheduling.

To see your hiring process through to the end, ICIMS now offers features for live and recorded interviews, language proficiency testing, offer management, and onboarding. If you’re a large company with frequent or volume hiring needs, ICIMS is worth checking out. It is robust, feature-rich, and constantly evolving to cover more functionality.

What users think of ICIMS

Reviewer's Rating
8/10

The candidate tracking feature was the one I used most often. The ability to track applicants, collaborate with coworkers, and maintain communication without direct outreach was invaluable. Viewing the stage each candidate was in was another helpful feature.

Posting to job boards directly from iCIMS made recruiting more efficient. Finally, sending background checks directly from iCIMS made workflows smoother.

What do you like about ICIMS?

It can handle a large number of applicants and employees. The organization of the applicant stages was helpful for a larger team of recruiters. Job board posting directly from iCIMS saved time. Compliance tasks were easier to manage with iCIMS.

Why did your organization buy ICIMS, and how long have you used it for?

I used iCIMS for about nine months in a former role. The organization had been using it for years before and continued to use it after I left. From my understanding, the reason for choosing iCIMS was its ability to organize applicant data and communications at a high volume.

Overall, iCIMS was effective for sending large email blasts and was user-friendly. The compliance features were also very helpful.

What do you dislike about ICIMS?

Customization is somewhat difficult. The interface is the same for all users, with no ability to rearrange components. The cost is relatively high and may be unaffordable for mid-sized or smaller companies. Some candidates found the system difficult to use, leading to incomplete applications.

How is ICIMS different than their competitors?

The compliance features are more in-depth than those of other solutions. Applicant tracking was easier with multiple hiring teams involved. While competitors work well for individual recruiters, iCIMS helped the entire team stay aligned. Texting applicants was simple, which many other platforms do not offer.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

Company size is an important factor, especially if growth is expected. The hiring rate also matters; for companies hiring at a fast pace or high volume, iCIMS would be beneficial. Another consideration is the HR team's level of compliance knowledge. iCIMS can assist teams that may need additional support in this area.

How has ICIMS changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

AI has been integrated and now provides assistance with job postings.

What specific type of user or organization is ICIMS very good for?

iCIMS is a good fit for large companies that hire at a high volume.

What specific type of user or organization would ICIMS not be a good fit for?

iCIMS is not a good fit for smaller organizations that do not have many job openings or applicants to track.

iCIMS was our day-to-day lifeline. It was critical for candidate tracking, credentialing, business development, and back-end operations. These functions were essential to support our growth initiatives. iCIMS helped streamline multiple processes.

The platform supported us through the transition and remained reliable throughout each step.

What do you like about ICIMS?
  • iCIMS allowed us to customize the platform based on our specific needs.
  • We could configure features for designated functions.
  • Having a dedicated super user to support our organization was highly beneficial.
Why did your organization buy ICIMS, and how long have you used it for?

At the time, we were looking to upgrade our existing platform. iCIMS offered multiple options that allowed us to enhance and customize the platform. It provided our organization with a strategic advantage, improving our speed-to-market delivery.

It also supported our production goals. Overall, it significantly contributed to our operational efficiency. iCIMS allowed us to achieve a 3-5x efficiency increase in different departments.

What do you dislike about ICIMS?

The first challenge with iCIMS is the pricing. Second is the ease of use and operation. Lastly, I have to take so many additional steps when pulling reports.

How is ICIMS different than their competitors?

It is easily scalable for larger organizations.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

Criteria should include the size of the organization, cost, and end-user usability.  Additionally, it is essential to understand the scale of the location and the level of roll-out support.

How has ICIMS changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

There have been consistent enhancements aimed at improving the product.

What specific type of user or organization is ICIMS very good for?

iCIMS is a practical solution for most large organizations.

What specific type of user or organization would ICIMS not be a good fit for?

For smaller organizations, iCIMS may be too much.

Reviewer's Rating

This was a great recruiter workflow tool and also worked well for sourcers and the onboarding team. It was effective for tracking recruitment activity from application to offer. The sourcing team was able to run effective searches within the platform and check if someone else on the team was already reaching out to the same candidates, which helped eliminate duplicate messages.

I was not part of the onboarding team, but they were able to check what was still outstanding before a candidate's start date. Based on my personal experience, I primarily used it for recruiting workflows.

What do you like about ICIMS?

It offers a wide range of workflows and features. It was user-friendly. Customer support was great. Integrations were strong. It allowed clients limited access to iCIMS instead of full enterprise access.

Why did your organization buy ICIMS, and how long have you used it for?

iCIMS had a pretty good overall package. It wasn't just an ATS; it provided onboarding, video interviewing, and, if I remember correctly, texting via the system as well. There was also the capability to build candidate pipelines for current or future needs.

It included interview scheduling functions to avoid a lot of back and forth via Outlook. We were looking to eliminate many manual processes and consolidate into one ATS/HRIS. I used this for about two years.

What do you dislike about ICIMS?

It is slightly higher in cost. I find other ATS platforms to be less complex. It can be tricky to learn initially.

How is ICIMS different than their competitors?

I would compare this as a silver medalist to SuccessFactors or Workday. It has excellent capabilities, but reporting is better on Workday, and SuccessFactors is more user-friendly. Of those three, I would always choose SuccessFactors; however, iCIMS is not a bad option.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

Price depends on company headcount and number of users. Consider whether the organization will use this for HR and onboarding as well. There is a free trial, so it is worth trying for a larger organization.

How has ICIMS changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

The features for HR and compliance have evolved. Since they work with larger companies, they likely understand that organizations must stay compliant to avoid litigation or hefty fines.

What specific type of user or organization is ICIMS very good for?

iCIMS is definitely suitable for a large-scale company, particularly one looking to integrate an ATS with an HRIS.

What specific type of user or organization would ICIMS not be a good fit for?

iCIMS is too expensive for small businesses.
