What users think of Culture Amp

Reviewer's Rating
9/10

Culture Amp is used for quarterly engagement surveys, pulse checks, continuous employee performance reviews, and 360-degree feedback assessments. The platform helps managers and HR teams identify team-specific issues and potential areas for improvement.

We use it to collect standardized employee experience data during both onboarding and offboarding. The platform tracks ongoing trends and enables comparisons with organizations of similar size.

Its analytics dashboards help us present results to leadership and support the development of culture-focused goals.

What do you like about Culture Amp?
  • The surveys are research-based and provide access to valuable benchmarking data across industries.
  • The user interface is clean, modern, and easy to use for both employees and administrators.
  • The reporting and insights dashboards are helpful for identifying trends and tracking progress.
  • The platform supports multiple modules — engagement, performance, and development — making it a comprehensive solution.
Why did your organization buy Culture Amp, and how long have you used it for?

Culture Amp became our adopted platform to better understand employee engagement, satisfaction, and organizational health through ongoing surveys and feedback systems. Our previous method lacked structure and consistency, which prevented us from taking meaningful action on feedback.

Culture Amp allowed us to create a standardized employee listening strategy, obtain practical insights, and promote open communication throughout the organization. The reporting features and benchmarking information provided by the platform offered context that other tools lacked.

We have used the platform for more than a year and conducted multiple survey cycles, each showing increased participation rates and greater value.

What do you dislike about Culture Amp?
  • The platform can be expensive, especially for small companies or startups with limited budgets.
  • Some survey and reporting customization options are limited unless you are on a higher-tier plan.
  • The learning curve for advanced reporting features can be steep for users outside of HR.
  • It offers limited integrations with certain niche HR systems compared to more open platforms.
How is Culture Amp different than their competitors?

What I appreciate most about Culture Amp is that it places culture and people at the center. While many HR tools treat engagement surveys as an afterthought, Culture Amp is built with the employee experience as its foundation.

The surveys are evidence-based and adaptable to various team structures, and the benchmarking tools facilitate easy comparison within your sector. Compared to products like Lattice or Officevibe, Culture Amp offers more robust analytics, making it a better fit for organizations focused on a people-first approach.

I prefer it because it not only collects feedback but also interprets the data and supports meaningful, ongoing improvements.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

When choosing an employee performance and engagement platform, assess the depth of analytics, the ease of use for both managers and employees, and the level of support offered.

The insights should be actionable and drive real outcomes. Look for platforms that support regular feedback collection beyond annual surveys, and evaluate whether the tool aligns with your current business needs and cultural goals.

Consider how much customization is necessary, especially if your organization has complex reporting structures or non-standard teams.

How has Culture Amp changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

Modules have been added or enhanced for:

  • Performance management
  • Employee development
  • Goal tracking
  • Mobile responsiveness
  • Real-time reporting
What specific type of user or organization is Culture Amp very good for?

Culture Amp is well-suited for medium to large companies aiming to retain talent, support employee growth, and foster a collaborative work environment. It is an excellent choice for HR professionals leading feedback initiatives, performance evaluations, and workplace improvement strategies.

Tech companies, educational institutions, and mission-driven organizations tend to achieve strong ROI from Culture Amp due to its alignment with people-centered values. It is also convenient for remote teams, offering visibility into employee needs and activities across locations.

What specific type of user or organization would Culture Amp not be a good fit for?

Very small companies or startups with fewer than 25 employees may find Culture Amp too costly and more comprehensive than necessary. If only basic engagement surveys or light performance monitoring are needed, simpler tools may suffice, or manual approaches could be adequate.

Organizations seeking a full HRIS (Human Resource Information System) may find Culture Amp lacking, as it does not include functions like payroll, benefits, or time tracking. It is intended to complement an existing HR system, not replace it.

Reviewer's Rating
9/10

We used the engagement survey functionality of CultureAmp. We conducted two rounds of annual engagement surveys. This included integrating the platform with company data so that employee demographics could be tied to survey responses. The survey was delivered virtually to all employees, and the results were analyzed directly on the CultureAmp platform. The tool helped us easily visualize trends and areas for improvement within the organization.

What do you like about Culture Amp?
  • The setup of the platform was very easy.
  • The questions were formulated and validated by people scientists.
  • The engagement survey results report was easy to read and distribute to managers.
Why did your organization buy Culture Amp, and how long have you used it for?

The company I was working for was looking to conduct an employee engagement survey. We needed a tool that was easy to use, accessible on both PC and mobile devices, and had survey items backed by science that could be benchmarked. The CultureAmp tool met all of these requirements, and we used the platform for two years. It allowed us to gain insights into employee engagement efficiently. Personally, I used the tool throughout that two-year period to manage survey deployment and analyze results.

What do you dislike about Culture Amp?
  • It was challenging not having access to the raw data for internal analysis.
  • The pricing tiers prevented us from accessing specific services without exceeding our budget.
  • Although easy to use and distribute, the platform offered limited customization options for the results reports.
How is Culture Amp different than their competitors?

I feel that CultureAmp is similarly useful when compared to other products, such as Qualtrics. What I find unique about CultureAmp is the support provided by their people scientists when setting up surveys and interpreting the results. It is also very easy to set up and integrate into an organization. I would consider using CultureAmp again for similar tasks.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

People should consider how they plan to use the tool and who will be using the platform. Addressing these questions will help determine how much the company should invest and which features are necessary for their initiatives.

How has Culture Amp changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

I understand that CultureAmp has added more features to cover other areas of HR activities and the employee experience, such as onboarding and exit surveys.

What specific type of user or organization is Culture Amp very good for?

I feel CultureAmp is great for organizations looking to scale a solution quickly and that do not have many in-house resources for extensive research and analysis of survey results.

What specific type of user or organization would Culture Amp not be a good fit for?

I don't think CultureAmp would be a good fit for an organization that prefers to own its survey data and maintain full control over data analysis and reporting.

Reviewer's Rating
10/10

I used Culture Amp to analyze employee engagement and exit survey data, identify trends, and develop action plans to improve workplace culture. The platform was essential for running pulse surveys, collecting feedback on company initiatives, and measuring sentiment across different teams and locations.

It helped generate reports used by leadership to inform strategy. I regularly reviewed survey participation rates and key metrics to identify areas needing attention. The insights enabled more targeted and effective HR initiatives.

What do you like about Culture Amp?
  • Culture Amp provides deep analytics and real-time insights, making it easy to identify engagement trends and take proactive action.
  • The platform’s benchmarking feature allows comparison against industry standards, helping set realistic goals for improvement.
  • Its user-friendly interface and automated reports simplify data analysis, saving time and improving decision-making for HR and leadership teams.
Why did your organization buy Culture Amp, and how long have you used it for?

While working with Universal Engineering Sciences in 2024, we implemented Culture Amp to enhance our employee engagement strategy and improve retention. Before adopting the platform, we faced challenges in gathering and analyzing employee feedback efficiently, which made it difficult to identify trends and address workplace concerns proactively.

Culture Amp provided real-time insights into engagement, performance, and overall sentiment, allowing us to take data-driven actions to improve our workplace culture. I personally used Culture Amp for six months, leveraging its analytics to support leadership in creating targeted retention initiatives and improving the employee experience across the western region.

What do you dislike about Culture Amp?
  • The platform was expensive based on what I understood.
  • Integration with other HR systems could be more seamless, as some data syncing required manual adjustments.
  • The customization options were somewhat limited, making it difficult to tailor questions to our organization’s specific needs.
How is Culture Amp different than their competitors?

Culture Amp stands out from its competitors due to its automatic reporting and analytics. When we used SurveyMonkey, gathering employee feedback required extensive manual effort to analyze and summarize responses. Culture Amp automates this process with real-time insights and visual dashboards, significantly reducing the time spent on data interpretation.

While SurveyMonkey offered more flexibility in survey design, Culture Amp’s ability to streamline reporting and convert feedback into actionable strategies made it more effective for improving workplace culture.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

When selecting an employee engagement tool, organizations should consider automation, analytics, and integration capabilities. Automated reporting is crucial for turning survey data into insights without manual analysis.

Strong analytics and benchmarking help companies compare results against industry standards and track progress. Integration with existing HR systems reduces administrative workload.

Ease of use and customization are also key—some platforms prioritize simplicity, while others offer more flexible design features, so it's important to select one that fits your organization’s needs and resources.

How has Culture Amp changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

I am unsure, as I only used it for six months.

What specific type of user or organization is Culture Amp very good for?

Culture Amp is ideal for mid-to-large-sized organizations that prioritize data-driven employee engagement and performance management. It is especially beneficial for HR teams needing automated reporting, actionable insights, and benchmarking to guide culture improvements.

What specific type of user or organization would Culture Amp not be a good fit for?

Culture Amp may not be a good fit for small businesses or organizations seeking a basic, low-cost survey tool.
