JazzHR is a cloud-based recruiting solution that’s specifically built for small and medium-sized businesses. Through it, you can build custom-branded career pages, post jobs to multiple free and paid job boards, and share those posted jobs on various social media sites for maximum reach. 

Once candidates apply for your posted jobs, JazzHR enables you to track how far they have progressed through your hiring process through customizable recruiting stages and workflows. You can also communicate with candidates who applied for your posted jobs without leaving JazzHR. Not to mention, several email responses, such as interview scheduling requests and progress notifications, can be automated so you’re able to spend your time on more important tasks. 

We like that JazzHR has pre-integrated offer management features. You can choose from several existing offer letter templates, or customize one yourself and share it with successful candidates. You can also collect e-signatures without needing to integrate JazzHR with third-party tools. 

We do, however, have to dock a few points from JazzHR for lacking a mobile app. While some features of JazzHR such as candidate quick screen and interview guides have been optimized for mobile browser access, it’s rather a hassle for hiring managers to get to those features on mobile browsers vs on a dedicated mobile app. And as companies are increasingly seeking mobile-first recruiting strategies to save time and reach candidates where they are, having a mobile app to your recruiting software becomes a necessity, not an accessory.    

Overall, we think that several SMBs can find value in JazzHR’s offering. If you’re looking for an affordable recruiting solution with features for candidate sourcing, applicant tracking, and offer management (and you can get past the lack of a mobile app), then JazzHR is definitely worth checking out.

I use JazzHR to manage multiple job openings within our organization. The platform provides a clear view of the roles we are actively hiring for, the number of applicants received, and, most importantly, the ability to communicate with candidates directly within the interface. This feature is particularly beneficial as it eliminates the need to monitor a separate email inbox, which I had to do in the past.

JazzHR also facilitates collaboration with hiring managers, especially during the resume and application review stages of the hiring process.

Our organization purchased JazzHR after receiving significant additional funding that required us to scale our hiring efforts rapidly. We needed a platform that could consolidate our recruitment process by connecting job postings to our website and distributing them across multiple job boards.

Before JazzHR, we had to post job openings on each board manually, which was time-consuming and inefficient. JazzHR streamlined this process, allowing us to manage applications more effectively. I have personally used JazzHR for the past three years.

What do you dislike about this tool?
  • JazzHR could offer more automation and workflow management tools.
  • It would be beneficial if JazzHR integrated with our HRIS system (currently Paylocity).
  • A seamless integration with Paylocity or another HRIS would improve the transition from recruitment to onboarding.
How is this tool different than their competitors?

JazzHR, as a standalone solution, is more robust than ATS modules or add-ons within payroll platforms. Those have been the primary ATS options I have used outside of JazzHR.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

One of the most important factors to consider is which job boards the system integrates with and how seamlessly these integrations function. Additionally, organizations should evaluate the number of job postings allowed and ensure they are not being overcharged based on their hiring volume.

JazzHR has remained relatively unchanged since I started using it.

I primarily used JazzHR as an ATS to store and manage applicant data. The ability to automate various steps in the hiring process helped improve efficiency. We programmed letters, screening questions, and other workflow steps directly into the system.

Since we used a separate HRIS, we integrated JazzHR so that applicant data would flow seamlessly into the HRIS once a candidate was hired. The system was also easy for hiring managers to use, making collaboration more effective.

We use Jazz HR daily. We have our options set up to provide notifications for each new applicant for each position we have posted. More than 90% of our recent hires have been recruited and selected using JazzHR. As for workflows, we use JazzHR to post jobs, identify qualified candidates, contact candidates for additional information or to schedule interviews, and to notify candidates of non-selection or selection. Occasionally we use JazzHR to identify candidates for positions we have not yet posted.

What do you like about this tool?

JazzHR is really easy to use. It is very intuitive, with tabs being pretty self explanatory. JassHR also posts on multiple job boards and pulls quality candidates from those job boards as well, expanding our reach to prospective hires. It is very easy to read and download resumes, and we can quickly share the applications with others within our team who need to view them. The price for the service is also reasonable. There was a price increase this year but we felt it was still more than worth it. JazzHR also integrates with our HRIS, Zenefits, which is an additional benefit.

Why did your organization buy this tool, and how long have you used it for?

We bought JazzHR because we wanted to streamline our recruiting process. Being in the federal contracting and acquisition space, we get quite a few opportunities to fill vacancies. Our company needed to be able to identify qualified candidates quickly. We also wanted to use an applicant tracking system that hosted candidates from multiple sources. Our first experience with JazzHR was in late 2021 and we purchased a subscription in 2022. We've been happy with the service and often refer colleagues and other businesses to JazzHR.

What do you dislike about this tool?

It can sometimes take longer than expected to receive feedback or a response from a JazzHR rep. We also have noticed that the system freezes more frequently than expected. We can usually work around this by simply logging out and back in but it seems to be a JazzHR issue since this happens on different computers as well as different networks. We would like to see more customizable features so that the look of JazzHR has more of a personalized feel.

How is this tool different than their competitors?

JazzHR provides more candidates than competitors and it has a much lower cost. We also like the ability to customize templates when responding to candidates without having to pay an additional fee or select a higher priced subscription. JazzHR is also much easier to navigate than Monster and Indeed, and candidates have shared that when using JazzHR directly, it is easier to upload resumes and apply than other services.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

If you want a low cost option that checks off most if not all of the boxes, consider JazzHR. If you need fast customer service responses, then you might want to try a different provider who can accommodate that. If you don't need a highly personalized home page, JazzHR is a good option especially for the price. Overall, JazzHR is our favorite resource for our recruiting needs.

We have only used JazzHR for a little over a year now and have not noticed significant changes worth mentioning.

JazzHR was the only tool that we used in the organization. As a recruiter, majorly all my work was done through JazzHR. Some of the key workflows of JazzHR which I used daily were- Job Creation and Posting (creating job postings with relevant details like job title, and descriptions and then publishing them to various job boards and career sites.

Another workflow was Applicant Tracking which was a centralized platform for all the candidate profiles with detailed information. I used to daily review and screen candidates from JazzHR and then move candidates through different stages of the hiring pipeline (e.g., screening, interview, offer) to track their progress.

Scheduling and coordinating interviews with candidates was another major workflow that I used regularly. JazzHR also helped in sharing candidate profiles with other recruiters, Hiring Managers and we could even exchange notes about the candidates through that tool. It helped us in communication and collaboration.

What do you like about this tool?

JazzHR helped me to effectively manage candidate information and track their progress throughout the hiring process.

It automated my hiring process and saved a lot of time for me.

I also need to not post jobs on various platforms individually, I just posted on JazzHR and it integrated into various career sites and job platforms.

The candidate texting feature helped me in communicating with all my candidates on the same platform.

Why did your organization buy this tool, and how long have you used it for?

I have used the JazzHR tool for one year throughout my tenure in the company. We evaluated the organization's needs, priorities, and budget and hence went with JazzHR as our ATS.

Compared with three different tools, JazzHR had to offer the best price (cost-efficient). It also has a User-Friendly Interface making it easy for both recruiters and hiring managers to navigate and utilize the system. JazzHR is also integrated with numerous job boards like Linkedin, Indeed, Zip Recruiter, etc making it easy for recruiters to reach out to a wider pool of candidates when they apply.

The organization is a small organization with less than 100 employees. It is also a pretty new company, we weren't sure about other tools thus JazzHR stood out because it offers a monthly subscription. Not all tools offer monthly subscriptions. It's easier for new organizations who want to try new tools to first enroll for a monthly subscription rather than a yearly subscription.

What do you dislike about this tool?

I have also used other tools similar to JazzHR and I believe that there are a lot of advanced features which were there in other ATS but were not present in JazzHR. For larger organizations, it could be a limitation.

Sometimes when filing a ticket with JazzHR on any issues, they are a little slow in replying and resolving.

It also has some limitations on integrating with certain HRIS platforms.

How is this tool different than their competitors?

JazzHR stands out as an HR tool, it has several cons but the advantages stand out. I personally like this tool but again it depends on the organization's needs and priorities. For small businesses, it is a great option but for larger companies it can vary. I quickly could adopt to the tool and also had a smooth user experience.

The very first criteria to consider when buying this tool is the pricing and value for money. Understanding JazzHR's pricing structure, including any additional costs for extra features or users. Evaluate the same pricing in relation to the value and features offered by the competitors. Also, the organization's needs and priorities if/whether it is been fulfilled by JazzHR.

Changes and updates regularly happen in JazzHR. JazzHR has been adapting to various technological advancements. From the time I started working on the tool, there were a lot of great changes in the workflows ensuring that the recruiter has a smooth process.

  • Candidate’s email replies are not easy to see/notifications

I prefer that JazzHR is easy to follow compared to other ATSs’ whose dashboard views are overwhelming and difficult to navigate.

They should consider the integrations they want to use. JazzHR has great workflows and integrations but the setup is very manual and somewhat limited compared to other competitors. They should also consider the number of users needing access as this can be limited depending on the plan chosen

I use JazzHR as my interview guide and to share my feedback with other key parties. When I launch the interview guide it will guide me through great questions to ask and allow me to type in their responses and rate what I thought about their response. When you interview dozens of people, your feedback begins to run together after a while. I like that the guide also gives me some direction and consistency in the interview process. I don't have to try to guess what questions to ask and ensure I'm being fair. I also use JazzHR to send offer letters and allow the applicants to e-sign. This makes tracking the hiring process so much easier than completing it manually.

What do you like about this tool?

I like how user friendly it is. I like that you can make offers within the software and track the status of them (have they opened it, have they signed it etc). I like that you are able to see the history of applicants so you know if they have applied previously or at other properties of your organization.

Why did your organization buy this tool, and how long have you used it for?

We bought JazzHR as a means to streamline our hiring process. We had so many hands in the pot, without solid communication and it was a mess! JazzHR is a one stop shop for the hiring process. The interview guide allows you to view questions to ask, and actually provide the answer you were given so that when you are meeting to discuss applicants you can simply pull up the interview notes in a seamless way. You no longer have to wonder who the candidate spoke to, what the feedback was, or even if they've applied previously. You can vote on applicants as a team to get the consensus of who the ideal candidate will be. I have personally used JazzHR for 2 years.

I truly do not have any cons for JazzHR.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

Ideal criteria would be ease of access, workflow logistics, is it ideal for my organization size\type. You want your software program to be able to sustain the task at hand. Can you reach someone for support when needed? Do you have 24 hour support? If not, how long do you wait? How long would my ROI take? How quickly can a user complete the process from start to finish? These are all things to consider when buying these types of products.

How has this tool changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

They have sped up the hiring process via JazzHR. Now you can post to dozens of job boards in one click just like that! They have replaced the outdated system of hiring that once existed.

What specific type of user or organization is this tool very good for?

Property Management is the area I have used it. We have to hire for over 200 apartment communities. Corporate offices for sure. Large Businesses, Mid size businesses, small businesses.

What specific type of user or organization would this tool not be a good fit for?

None really. Even small offices could benefit from JazzHR because it is cost effective. They have plans as low as $49\month, which would likely be affordable for even the smallest businesses. Even if you are a one man operation, you can use JazzHR to keep up with your notes on applicants.

Why did your organization buy this tool, and how long have you used it for?

JazzHR is a cloud-based applicant tracking system that streamlines and automates the hiring process.

Our organization was looking to engage highly specialized consultants from the US as well as Europe in IT Security, Cloud Computing, and Enterprise Solutions.

We found that JazzHR provided centralized hiring where the team could manage the entire hiring process, from job postings to candidate screening and interview scheduling which saved us a lot of time. It also provided impressive data-driven insights and analytics on hiring metrics which enabled us to identify our areas of improvement.

What do you dislike about this tool?
  • There are limitations on candidate search, especially for local searches in Africa. The candidate search functionality could also be more robust, allowing for more targeted and advanced searches.
  • Customer support response time can be slower at times which can be frustrating when trying to resolve issues quickly.
  • The reporting features could also be improved on to provide more insight and more informative data analytics.
